Cougar Energy and Ergo Exergy complete εUCG™ cold testing at Kingaroy, Australia

In conjunction with their UCG technology partner, Ergo Exergy Technologies Inc., Cougar Energy Limited have successfully completed εUCG™ cold testing at their flagship εUCG™ project in Kingaroy, Queensland, Australia. Completion of these tests represents a significant achievement for Cougar’s Kingaroy project, the results of which verify the applicability of Ergo Exergy’s εUCG™ technology to the coal seam. Furthermore, the testing provides working technical data on the underground system to enable finalisation of detailed equipment and operational design for the subsequent stages of project development. Following construction and commissioning of the pilot plant and equipment, ignition of the gasifier and syngas production are expected to commence during early 2010.
