New U.S. Patent for Ergo Exergy’s εUCG™ Technology

A new U.S. patent has been granted to Ergo Exergy Technologies Inc., adding to our portfolio of innovative methods for clean energy production. The patent, titled “Quenching And/Or Sequestering Process Fluids Within Underground Carbonaceous Formations, And Associated Systems And Methods” (U.S. Patent No. 12,385,360), formalizes our groundbreaking advancements in underground coal gasification (εUCG™) technology. This patent introduces novel methods and systems for injecting process fluids, such as carbon dioxide, into underground formations to cool them and capture contaminants, while also enabling the long-term sequestration of carbon.

This new patent highlights our ongoing commitment to optimizing the εUCG™ process for a significantly reduced carbon footprint. The technology described allows for the cleansing of depleted underground gasification panels and the sequestration of carbon dioxide, further solidifying εUCG™ as a powerful tool for producing clean hydrogen and its derivatives while actively contributing to a reduction in atmospheric carbon concentration.
